Fr. Lou Papes is one of Cleveland's finest preachers.  It is clear to me that he enjoys the charisma of preaching.  His homilies reflect intelligence, pastoral experience, imagination, and a deep love for the word of God.                                                                                    --Rev. Donald Cozzens, Author of The Changing Face of the Priesthood,
Sacred Silence: Denial and the Crisis in the Church , and   A Faith That Dares to Speak

Our Parish Mission was one of the largest in recent memory because of Fr. Lou's engaging style and powerful message.  His inclusive attitude and his wealth of images and stories made all feel connected to the experience of the four evenings.  Fr. Lou energized the spirituality of our faith community.                                                                             --Rev. Don Oleksiak, former Pastor St. Monica, Garfield Hts., OH
currently Director of Clergy Personnel for the Diocese of Cleveland

Our parishioners related instantly to Fr. Lou in a very warm and open way.  He was very cordial and complimentary to all those parishioners he met.  They want him to come back.

Only a person who has undergone a conversion experience can lead others to conversion...I am grateful to Fr. Lou for being willing to allow Our Lord to invite us to such an experience.                     --Rev. Water Benn, Pastor
   St. Aloysius, Pottstown, PA

Weeks after our mission was over, we are still referring  to the challenges Fr. Lou left us.  He is continuing to influence our community and bring us to deeper awareness of the challenges and joys of being disciples in the 21st century.                                                                                                              --Fr. Tim LaBo, Pastor
St. Francis of Assisi, Apoka, FL
Fr. Lou's preaching was able to convince people to look at their Christian commitment to justice in a new way.  He was able to move people to action.  He was excellent!
--Rev. Bob Mattingly, St. Maxilmilian Kolbe, Port Charlotte, FL

Fr. Lou was very personable, relaxed and well prepared.  He spoke with great conviction.  His preaching was inspiring and thought-provoking, hope-filled and challenging.

Fr. Lou was well received at our two parishes.  His preaching and celebration of the liturgy were lively and energizing.  I heard several comments from parishioners that his presence was appreciated.

--Pat Slater, former Pastoral Associate, St. Joseph, Camden, NJ

The retreat came at a time when we needed to look back and look forward.  Mary Ellen and Lou  made that process easier with their caring manner and their commitment to honor our sisters'  stories.  It was a deeply enriching experience.                                             --Sr. Kathleen Condry, OSU

The retreat offered by Fr. Lou and Sr. Mary Ellen stands out in my memory.  Their initial preparation in getting acquainted with our heritage, as well as the retreat materials pointed to how much they cared to help us deepen our spirituality and charism.     --Sr. Geraldine Wodarczyk, CSFN
